ABOUT THE work
My paintings begin with what is close to me — the objects, places and small moments that make up a life. At the centre of my practice is attention: noticing what can so easily disappear into the everyday, and giving it space to become strange, tender, humorous or unexpectedly beautiful.
Recent work turns increasingly towards the landscape and life around me in Western Australia, bringing familiar Australian subjects into conversation with the traditions of still life and historical painting.
